Chris Whitwell is Founder & Managing Director of Basis Commodities and has over 25 years experience in commodity procurement, sales and trading.
Chris is an expert in business development and has a proven track record of building value for listed and private companies in the commodities space.
Prior to establishing Basis Commodities, Chris worked for Australia’s leading agribusiness company, GrainCorp, as Head of International Sales and Marketing and prior to that for AWB Limited as Regional Manager for the Middle East.
Eric Bradley has been in the Foodstuffs industry dealing with commodities for over 20 years.
Prior to joining Basis Commodities Eric worked primarily as a commodity trader in Europe and the Middle East where he gained a wealth of experience in Physical Trading, Hedging, Merchanting, Logistics and Analysis with Sucden and prior to that CR Sugar.
Eric also established a Commodity Hedge Fund which delivered leading returns in the sector under his management. Eric is General Manager of our Dubai office.
Basis Commodities is delighted to announce the appointment of Elias Azar to our Dubai Office. ‘Elias has over twenty years’ experience in international trading, business development, project management, logistics and procurement in the Middle East region’ said Managing Director, Chris Whitwell.
Elias will help us as we look to grow the revenue of the Dubai office and assist in building our client base within the region.
Prior to joining Basis Commodities in Dubai Elias managed a number of family-owned trading companies and agricultural projects together with being an Investment Fund board member.
Dean has over 25 years experience spanning the global soft commodity sectors in senior executive roles in Asia and Africa, managing businesses involved in the sugar, cocoa, coffee, molasses, animal feed and ethanol industries.
As Managing Director for Asia/Pacific with the London based ED & F Man Group, Dean established a comprehensive track record for growing profitable businesses, encompassing trading, production, marketing, merchanting and distribution activities across global, regional and domestic markets.
